you are preparing to submit in February an independent Identity synthesis theme paper incorporating an independent novel, and four other sources which supports a common idea- an Enduring Understanding of the Identity Course. Assignment: Synthesis Paper 1---------IDENTITY SYNTHESIS PAPER February 9-13th.
Overview: You will be exploring the different approaches writers and researchers have taken in regards to the concept of identity. To accomplish this, you will develop a thesis to guide your paper, which will be crafted around the course’s enduring understandings listed below.
Identity: Enduring Understandings
People portray themselves as having a particular identity based upon their upbringing and environment.
People portray themselves as having a particular identity based upon their experiences with others.
People portray themselves as having a particular identity based upon their acceptance or rejection of the societal norms.
LITERATURE GROUPS - READING SCHEDULE DATES AND GRAPHIC ORGANIZER HANDOUT
students know to have assignments completed prior to start of period and are expected to discuss variety of themes, EU, and author's purpose.

reading independent novel ( must be in paper- max two quotes for each of the five sources)

1/12 two quotes white graphic organizer beginning of period
1/16 two quotes and thesis pink graphic organizer beginning of period
1/23 now Monday 1/26 by the beginning of period-- yellow graphic organizer note: students have had independent novel to read before the December break.. Students are to have six quotes and then pick their best one to two quotes for this one source ( five total sources) for the paper/exam.
